N.B. school district receives donations NORTH BRUNSWICK — The township Board of Education approved the acceptance of two significant donations during its public meeting Sept. 16. The first donation recognized was by township residents Narendra and Chitra Bhandari, who donated $2,000 to support an after-school tutorial program for students in need at Parsons Elementary School. "They wanted to contribute something to the district and make a difference in the lives of as many children as possible," Superintendent of Schools Brian Zychowski said. "We are truly grateful for a wonderful gift of $2,000 from Mr. and Mrs. Bhandari." The second donation accepted was from the Quotes for Cash program, run through the Teachers' Insurance Plan of New Jersey. Each North Brunswick school district employee who sought a car insurance quote was credited $20, and $25 if they decided to change over; thus, the district was presented with a check for $545. The money will go toward residents in need, such as the victim of a house fire or someone suffering from a severe medical condition. "We hope we continue our partnership as it benefits our students and staff," Zychowski said. |
