Hunters don't need seven days a week to hunt
Hunters already have six days to hunt. Many hunters say they choose to kill deer so their food is free from growth hormones and antibiotics. What about all the fertilizer, weed killers and chemicals people use on their lawns and plants that the deer eat?

They also say that the vast majority of bow hunters hunt from trees and shoot at a downward angle. This is something I wouldn't be proud of — putting food at the base of a tree, waiting for the deer to come and then cruelly shooting them with an arrow. You call that a sport? And, if shot the right way, arrows travel 50-60 yards, which is way outside the proposed safety zone change.

Did you know that 25 percent of the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife's budget comes from the New Jersey taxpayers? That money can definitely be put to better use.

As for the proposed Sunday bow hunting, hunters already have six days of hunting — now they want seven? If hunters want to be fair, they should have 3 1/2 days of killing in the woods and 3 1/2 safe days for the majority of residents that use our forests for nonlethal, recreational purposes.
