Philip Maiorana

Mr. Maiorana, 83, of Toms River, died June 19, 2009, at Community Medical Center in Toms River. He resided in North Brunswick for 38 years, prior to relocating to Toms River 14 years ago. He was a foreman for the Government Service Administration, Bayonne, for 38 years, retiring in 1979. During retirement, he was a crossing guard for the township of North Brunswick for 10 years. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Josephine "Babe" LaSalla Maiorana; a son and daughter-inlaw, Angelo and Bernadette Maiorana of Hamilton; a daughter and son-in-law, Gaetana and Robert Swercheck of North Brunswick; a brother and sister-in-law, Anthony and Madelyn Maiorana of Toms River; and five grandchildren. Visitation will be June 25 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick. A funeral service will be June 26 at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary of Mount Virgin Church, New Brunswick. Entombment will be at Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick.
