No. Bruns. will 'sport' annual festival again
Youth Sports Festival to be held near DeVry University for nine nights

Asea lion show and a live Marcan tiger show are two new attractions that will be featured at this year's North Brunswick Youth Sports Festival.

The annual event, appearing for its 12th year June 11-14 and June 17-21 near DeVry University on Route 1 north, will also feature pig racing, a petting zoo, rides, games, a free kids' tent, music by DJ Phil, entertainment on the main stage, a money wheel, a 50/50 raffle and an assortment of food selections.

The committee has been working since December, attending various carnivals and fairs to find activities that will appease visitors.

"The whole fair, there's something for everybody," said Darren Snediker, who cochairs the festival committee with Rodney Reinson and Rich Fabian. "I think people are staying home looking for these kinds of events, so we're hoping they'll support our event."

The $3 admission per person per night supports the various youth sports organizations in town, helping to reduce costs for parents, upgrade equipment and provide field trips for teams.

"It gives them activities to do, it keeps them off the streets, it gives them something to look forward to and it's a growing experience," Snediker said of the importance of youth sports.

The festival will be open 6-10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 6-11 p.m. Friday, 5 p.m. to midnight both Saturdays and 5-10 p.m. both Sundays.

Pay-one-price rides will be available June 11, 14, 18 and 21.

A fireworks display will be presented by Schaefer Productions 10 p.m. each Saturday night.

The festival is sponsored by Bristol- Myers Squibb.
