Two men arrested for driving same car while intoxicated

SOUTH BRUNSWICK - Two men were arrested just before midnight July 10 for DWI while operating the same vehicle, according to a police press release.

A police officer saw Abelardo Germain Magana-Tiul, 32, driving erratically through the Best Buy parking lot on Route 1. Before the vehicle was stopped, Daniel Vasquez, 39, switched positions with Magana Tiul, moving into the driver's seat while the car was still moving, according to the release.

The drivers were both found to be intoxicated and were arrested for DWI and refusal to submit to breath tests.

Magana-Tiul was charged with being an unlicensed driver and operating a vehicle carelessly. He was being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center.

Vasquez, a resident of North Brunswick, was released.
