Programs offered at S.B. Senior Center

South Brunswick Senior Center, Ridge Road, Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick, will offer a free trip to Hometown Buffet July 30 departing the center at 10:30 a.m.

A new line dancing class will be offered 1:30-2:30 p.m. for eight Wednesdays through Aug. 27. No partner is required.

The center's weekend hours are 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. July 12 and 26, and 1-4 p.m. Sundays. One-on-one computer instruction is available weekends.

A lecture on retirement and estate planning seminar will be July 17. A question and answer period will follow, and there will be a door prize. A lecture on downsizing will be July 31, and will include wills and reverse mortgage. Both will be at 12:30 p.m. A gypsy music concert will be 12:30 p.m. July 24. Gypsy duo Milena Dawidowicz, violin, and Elena Panova, piano will give the performance geared toward families. Dawidowicz is on the music faculty at Georgian Court University, Lakewood, and South Brunswick Public Schools. Panova is a master faculty member at Westminster Conservatory of Music at Rider University, Princeton.

A photography contest will be July 24, with drop off at 9:30 a.m., and pick up 2 p.m. Photos will be displayed 11 a.m.-2 p.m., and should be in a frame or stiff backing for show. Entry forms are at the senior center office. First-, second- and third-place prizes will be awarded. An eight-week zumba dance session will begin July 25. Classes are $45 minutes each and fee is $24. Zumba is a fusion of Latin Music and aerobic exercise.

A trip to Monmouth Park Racetrack, Oceanport, will be 10 a.m. July 31 (first race is 12:50 p.m.). Cost is $5 for bus transportation. Racetrack admission is $3 for the grandstand or $5 for the clubhouse, and programs range from $1-$5. The bus will depart Woodlot Park, New Road, South Brunswick. A trip to the New York Chinese Scholar's Garden, Staten Island, N.Y., will be 10:30 a.m. Aug. 12. Registration is now open. The Scholar's Garden has eight gardens with different themes. Fee is $10 and for bus and guided tour.
