Training for low-income residents begins July 14 A free program to train individuals in allied health and transportation is being offered to low-income Middlesex County residents 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday- Thursday, July 14-Aug. 14. The summer session runs 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday from July 14- Aug. 14. Students learn computer skills, customer service, leadership, study skills and work readiness. A fall program will also be offered in the allied health field (phlebotomist, electrocardiogram technician and computerized medical office assistant). The programs are aimed at recent high school grduates or those with a GED and not considering college at this time. The program, for individuals ages 19- 21, is funded by a grant from the Middlesex County Department of Workforce Development. Students will be paid for participation: $4.50 for each classroom hour, and $7.15 for each internship hour. Students will also have career workshops one Saturday per month.
