Open house on Wildlife Action Plan July 24 The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is seeking public comment on the state's Wildlife Action Plan, and will hold an open house 6:30-9 p.m. July 24 at Plainsboro Preserve, 80 Scotts Corner Road, Cranbury. The plan identifies threats to wildlife populations and establishes long-term goals and conservation actions aimed at maintaining wildlife populations. The meeting is intended to provide information about the plan, show how partner groups are working with the DEP on wildlife issues and engage residents in thinking about ways to implement the plan. Conservation partners such as the Division of Fish and Wildlife's Endangered and Nongame Species Program, New JerseyAudubon and the Nature Conservancy will be present. The meeting is sponsored by the Conserve Wildlife Foundation of New Jersey. For information, contact the Foundation at debbi.nichols@conservewildlifenj.org or 609-984-6012. |
