Motorcyclist suffers minor injuries

NORTH BRUNSWICK - A man suffered only minor injuries when his motorcycle slipped out from under him last week.

On June 25 at around 7:30 a.m., Darrell Hearns, 29, of Elizabeth, was driving southbound on Route 1 when he lost control of his motorcycle near Fashion Plaza, according to Police Lt. Roger Reinson. Police believe one of the fenders on the bike interfered with the tire, which caused the bike to fly out from underneath the rider.

Hearns had moderate injuries to his hands, although the bike somehow ignited afterward.

He was transported to St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick.
