Above: Brent Lane (l) and Robert Mattei, of the North Brunswick Department of Public Works, install storm-drain-inlet retrofit plates at 256 Garner Road on May 7 as part of the township's storm-water management program. The retrofit plates should help keep debris, bottles and litter from entering the stormdrain inlet, thereby enhancing the quality of storm water before it flows into streams, ponds and lakes. The township has over 2,000 storm-water inlets that are cleaned and inspected in accordance with the N.J. Municipal Storm Water Regulation program. Left: Eric Chaszar spraypaints a stenciled "No Dumping - Drains to River." Below: The finished retrofit-drainage-basin design, which will be located at various drains around town.
