Live new year with prior year's budget
Here's what "former Board (of Education) President Gail DiPane" is reported in the May 1 issue of the Sentinel to have said: "I think it's time the people who voted yes are listened tomore than the people who voted no." This, relative to the North Brunswick Township School budget defeat.

Well, I don't know about you, but I thought we were a democracy in these United States. I guess all who voted no are lesser people than those who voted yes. What an attitude! Now I am very concerned as to what is being taught our students in this township as regards democracy and government. Then, Neil Malvone (chair of the finance committee) "echoed DiPane's sentiments." It's catching! Things like this scare the daylight out of me.

NextApril, I'mgoing to remember this and remind, somehow, the citizens of this fine township of what was said. I guess we need a clearmajority of no votes- maybe we'd be "equal" if the no [votes] exceeded the yes [votes] by 50 percent? Amessage has to be sent.

In terms of the defeated budgets, the answer is simplicity itself. It was defeated: no new budget. Live the new year with the prior year's numbers. End of story, end of discussion, finis.
