Possible suicide on Rt. 1 in N.B.
BY JENNIFER AMATO Staff Writer

NORTH BRUNSWICK - A man whose body was found on April 2 allegedly committed suicide.

According to North Brunswick Police Lt. Roger Reinson, a Central JerseyWaste garbage truck was driving along Route 1 north just past College Farm Road but prior to Ryders Lane around 6:35 a.m. when a driver and passenger noticed what appeared to be a body on the side of the road.

Reinson said the passenger got out of the vehicle to check, found the body and contacted police.

When officers responded, they found a white male, approximately 42 years old, with a small caliber weapon on scene. The man's identity is being protected because it was a suicide, Reinson said.

Traffic was backed up for hours, with two lanes closed for three hours and rubbernecking occurring in both directions.

The case is being investigated by the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office.
