Meeting to discuss full day kindergarten April 8

North Brunswick Township Public Schools will hold a community meeting April 8 at 7 p.m. to discuss the full day kindergarten program to begin in September. The meeting will be at the auditorium at North Brunswick High School, Raider Road.

It will also include orientation for parents/ guardians of children beginning kindergarten in September. Kindergarten teacher Donna Kent and child development specialistAndrea Porter will provide suggestions to prepare children for a successful kindergarten experience, tools to help children become good readers and writers, and an overview of curriculum.

Following the presentation, the district's full-day kindergarten task force (KTF) will also give a status report of its findings, and seek input from attendees. The KTF comprises kindergarten teachers, representatives of the first-grade teachers, the parent of a pre-K student, a Board of Education representative, and district administrators.
