New principal appointed to Constable Elementary
BY CHRIS MURINO Staff Writer

SOUTH BRUNSWICK- The Board of Education appointed Suzanne Luck-Born, former vice principal of Constable Elementary School, to become the new principal of the school last week.

She is succeeding Principal Richard Chromey, who is leaving to become the new director of program assessment and data management for the district.

"There was a certain level of excitement and I was also honored that my colleagues within the district would consider me as a person that would be respected in that position," Luck-Born said about her appointment.

She said that she has learned a lot from Chromey.

"He taught me to gather information and data to help make educated decisions," she said. "Also, to have an open door for people to walk in. Just to be there as a resource for parents and for teachers. I credit him with so much. He has truly been a phenomenal mentor for me."

Luck-Born is looking forward to staying at Constable, although she is nervous about balancing the professional part of her life with her family responsibilities.

"It requires a little creative time management," she said.

Luck-Born said she hopes to have a new vice principal in place as soon as possible, but she does not want to rush into things, so someone can be found that fits the school. She said many people are involved in making the decision, including those at the school and at the district level. The appointment must then be approved by the Board of Education.
