Helen E. Laga Brown

Mrs. Brown, 83, of East Brunswick, died Feb. 22, 2008, at home. She was a waitress at Quality Inn, Somerset, for 54 years, retiring in 1995. She was predeceased by a son, William Brown Jr., in 1991; two daughters, JoAnn Swankosky in 2004, and Diane Brown in 1960; a brother, Frank Laga; and two sisters, Marie Graber and Betty Cole. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, William F. Brown; a daughter, Marie Knox of North Brunswick; two brothers, Joseph Laga of Union and Frank Laga of Littleton, Colo.; three sisters, Evelyn Schweitzer of Phillipsburg, Ohio, Rose Wilkinson of Roselle Park, and Anne Baniak of Shoreview, Minn.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Interment was at St. Peter's Cemetery, New Brunswick. Arrangements were by The Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick.
