Votes must be counted correctly
Voting dysfunction, yes it is out there- a malady that is affecting citizens in approximately 32 states, including some citizens in New Jersey.

Throughout the country voting districts are reporting problems with the electronic voting machines. These problems are causing votes to be miscounted, discounted and missed. In effect, after a voter makes the trip to the polling place and casts their vote, their vote somehow goes astray. Their right to have their vote count is taken away by the voting machine.

Yes, correcting the process of voting is being worked on. Throughout the country state governments are looking for ways to correct the defects and to build safeguards to ensure the accuracy of the vote count. Some states are going to revert to using good old paper ballots in parallel with the new electronic machines.

While it is a good sign that our governments are working to correct the problems, it is still up to each individual citizen to ensure this is accomplished before the next general election in November of this year.

Remember, a citizen's right to vote and have that vote counted correctly is a terrible right to be wasted.
