N.B. resident possibly murdered in Newark
Man dropped off in New Brunswick at EMS headquarters
BY JENNIFER AMATO Staff Writer

NORTH BRUNSWICK - A township resident was fatally shot in Newark but was dropped off at a hospital in New Brunswick on Saturday night, police believe.

At approximately 7:19 p.m., the New Brunswick Police Department received a call from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital EMS reporting that a shooting victim had been dropped off by car at their headquarters on Paterson Street, according to a press release fromAssistantMiddlesex County Prosecutor Nicholas F. Sewitch.

The victim, Radames Rosado, 40, of North Brunswick, was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 7:35 p.m. An autopsy revealed that he died as a result of a gunshot wound.

After speaking with theman who transported Rosado, police believe a car wash on the corner of Commercial Avenue and Handy Street in New Brunswick was the possible scene of the shooting, according to the release.

However, after conducting a more thorough investigation, police were unable to corroborate the friend's account that the shooting took place at the car wash. The man was questioned again by law enforcement officers, and it was determined that Rosado was murdered in Newark, rather than New Brunswick, Sewitch stated.

Further investigation revealed that the shooting occurred on Johnson Street in Newark between 5 p.m. and 5:41 p.m. on Saturday. The victim was transported by his friend from that location to EMS headquarters in New Brunswick, the release said.

The murder is now under investigation by the Newark Police Department and the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.
