Soap-making workshop at library March 12, 19

North Brunswick Library, 880Hermann Road, will present a program on the art of making handcrafted soap in two sessions, March 12 and 19, 7-9 p.m. Participantsmust be age 18 or older and attend both sessions. The program is being presented by La Shonda Tyree, owner ofNyah, Paterson, and affiliated with the Handcrafted Soap MakersGuild. Participantswill learn the history of soap-making, benefits of vegetable oils, and safety practices needed to make soap. Attendees will also make and customize soaps with colors, fragrances and other additives. Needed are a Pyrex measuring cup, old T-shirt, and three or four plastic containers.
