Fire damages S.B. home

SOUTHBRUNSWICK- Atwo-alarmfire heavily damaged a house in theDeans section of the township on Feb. 19 around 7 p.m., according to a police press release.

The fire, at 10 Oberman Lane, was extinguished within 30 minutes by Monmouth Junction and Kendall Park firefighters. The Brookview Fire Department fromEastBrunswick also responded and 40 firefighters were there to combat the blaze.

When police and firefighters arrived, flames were shooting out of a second-floor bedroomwindow, the release said. The residents of the home were all outside of the house when police arrived.

Firefighters contained the fire to the upstairs bedroom. The front exterior of the homewas scorched and experienced extensive water and smoke damage.

There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the township's Fire Safety Bureau.
