Resident pleased with proposed green
Iapplaud the vision plan presented by the Dayton Village Citizens Coalition last Thursday night. It offers a return to the charming, small town America we love but see only in movies or Disneyland.

The planned village green where people can stroll to get a coffee or ice cream, shop and do business in attractive offices is aesthetically appealing as it continues the old-time look of the Whitlock Tavern and the church. In addition to creating a visually beautiful center, it would enhance property values and bring business to the center.

What we have now is an asphalt garden with the car as the main player trying to get through five corners as quickly as possible. Let's shift the emphasis to people and get the potatoes off the couch and out of the cars, strolling and bike riding on the proposed paths.

However, before we can stroll in to beautiful Dayton Village for a coffee, we need sidewalks along Georges Road. Let's start with the sidewalks as we move toward completing the rest of the village green.
