Tower distressing to former N.B. mayor
Ireturned home from a business trip the other night to be greeted by a huge industrial looking tower that now stands in our local fire department along Cozzens Lane in North Brunswick. While I was aware that some sort of construction was occurring, I had no idea that it was this. This tower will generate additional revenue for the fire company. Great! But what about the loss in our property values?

The Planning Board approved this without most of us in the neighborhood knowing, because only residents within 200 feet had to be notified. Had I known, I would have protested it. This tower doesn't belong in any neighborhood. It looks like a smoke stack. It's ill fitted for such an environment but now is a permanent structure that welcomes people as they drive along our roads.

This shameful action has caused me great distress. To think that anyone would have approved such a thing is incredulous to me. While I support our volunteers and greatly appreciate their efforts, this was an action that should never have occurred. I am disappointed in them, our township officials, and the Planning Board for allowing this to be built.
