Orientation, mobile dental program at Linwood

The Linwood Middle School, 25 Linwood Place, North Brunswick, will sponsor a sixth-grade orientation program for parents with a son or daughter presently in the fifth grade Jan. 29 at 7 p.m. in the cafetorium.

The school is seeking volunteers to assist with the mobile dentist program coming to the school March 11. Two individuals are needed to stay with the students while waiting to be seen by the doctor and to escort students to the exam area. The program will provide screenings, cleanings and fluoride treatments to students, and students will receive a dental "report card" after the visit. X-rays will be shared with the child's dentist when a referral is made. Dental insurance, Medicaid and N.J. Family Care are accepted, and grants are available for children needing financial assistance.
