Residents urged to check voting eligibility for presidential primary
The League of Women Voters of Monroe Township reminds all citizens that New Jersey's presidential primary will take place Feb. 5. Registered voters affiliated with either the Democratic or the Republican Party may vote for one of that party's candidates in the primary.

If you have voted in a primary before or designated an affiliation with one of those parties when you registered to vote, you may participate in that party's primary. If you did not designate a party when you registered to vote and have not voted in a primary election before, you can go to the polls on Feb. 5 and declare your affiliation. If you are not registered to vote, the deadline to register for the presidential primary is Jan. 15, 2008.

We urge all citizens to ensure that they are eligible to vote for the candidate of their choice on Feb. 5.
