India's Independence Day Aug. 16 at NBTHS

Linwood Middle School, North Brunswick, will host India's Independence Day celebration at 10 a.m. Aug. 16 in front of North Brunswick Township High School, Raider Road. There will be exhibits, performances, snacks and the hoisting of the Indian flag.

The 4-H Indian Langoor Club is sponsoring a contest for youths ages 5 to 19 to submit artwork, an essay or poem expressing "India, what it means to me." Entries can only be submitted Aug. 16 at the high school and must be received by 9 a.m. Applicants must be present at the Independence Day celebration at night to win.
