Linwood educator chosen 'TeacherWhoMakesMagic'

Dee Guarino, a science teacher at Linwood Middle School (LMS), North Brunswick, has been named a "TeacherWho MakesMagic" byWMGQ 98.3.

Teachers considered for a Teacher Who Makes Magic award must first be nominated, with the nomination period fromNov. 19-Jan. 26. Guarino was nominated by the LMS administration for outstanding accomplishments in the classroom. She is a member of the National Middle Level Science TeachersAssociation and an associatemember of theNationalAcademics TeacherAdvisoryCouncil. Her awards and honors include the PresidentialAward forExcellence in Science and a Congressional Albert Einstein Fellow.

A committee will select 24 teachers from the final nominations received fromeach superintendent. Two winners are selected on a rolling basis, live, Fridays from Nov. 29 to Feb. 22. Guarino will be honored byWMGQ at an awards ceremony inMarch.
