High honor roll student named Scholar Athlete

Danielle Garback
NORTH BRUNSWICK - Danielle Garback was honored as the December Scholar Award recipient at the Township Council meeting on Monday. The program was created to honor students who excel in academics, athletics and/or the arts.

Danielle Garback Grade: sophomore at the North Brunswick Township High School

Academics: high honor roll student; 4.25 grade point average; taking honors math and honors history courses; named the top female student in Spanish and Social Studies as a freshman

Athletics: member of the varsity cheerleading squad; part of the Comet All-Stars competition cheerleading team for two years; member of the North Brunswick Indians Pop Warner cheer squad; named 2003 First Team National All-Around Little Scholar

Extracurriculars: student representative to the township Municipal Alliance Committee; recently hosted an underage drinking panel with the township Youth Council

Hobbies: tutoring, babysitting

The Department of Parks, Recreation & Community Services is accepting nominations for the Scholar Award program. Coaches, teachers and parents of children in grades three through 12 can submit their recommendations to the DPRCS Office at 710 Hermann Road or to LBenson@ northbrunswickonline.com.

Nominations must be in writing, no longer than one page, and a copy of the student's most recent report card must be attached.
