Linwood takes part in card drive, house contest

Linwood Middle School, North Brunswick, is participating in a holiday card drive for the military via www.LetsSayThanks.com.

On the site, a postcard designed from a child across the country can be selected and will be mailed by Xerox to a soldier stationed in Iraq. The service is free-of-charge and does not require registration or personal information.

The school's video club and student council will sponsor a "Deck the House" holiday contest through Dec. 14. The contest is open to any resident of North Brunswick living in a house or apartment that will be judged on holiday decorations and originality. All entries must be submitted to Linwood with $5 cash or check, to benefit the "Books to Keep" program at the township library. Each participant will also receive a free photograph of the decorated house.
