Deadline for Chinese project contest Nov. 30

The New Jersey Cultural Studies Foundation in conjunction with the Seton Hall University Asian studies department will cohost the second "Chinese Cultural Project Contest," with entry deadline Nov. 30.

The topic will be the "Beijing 2008 Olympic Games - The Impact on China." The contest is open to any full-time high school and junior college, college or university students. The object is to promote a better understanding and the appreciation of Chinese culture, society, economics, academics and sportsmanship. Format is a researchtype team project based on history and facts. Finalist presentations and the announcement of the winners will be on March 29 at Seton Hall University. Contestants will be divided into age groups of grades nine through 12, and college. Prizes will be given to the first-third-place winners in each group. Prizes are $1,000, $600 and $300 for firstthird place, respectively.
