Barrels deemed nontoxic

NORTH BRUNSWICK - Around 200 barrels that were found on the Treuman Storage property on Route 130 on Oct. 30 were deemed nontoxic.

According to North Brunswick Police Lt. Roger Reinson, an employee from the Department of Public Works found the barrels of oil while checking the DPW sewer station.

The Department of Environmental Protection did not report to the scene. It is not known at this time whose barrels they are, when they were placed there or if it is legal to have them there in the first place. The matter is under investigation.
