'Tailgate Trick or Treat' an unqualified success in South Brunswick
On Sunday afternoon, Oct. 28, the Halloween "Tailgate Trick or Treat" was held for South Brunswick residents at Woodlot Park. This is the sixth year for this annual event, and it was a tremendous success despite the change to the rain date and the wind! It was a beautiful day and over 400 participants enjoyed a cardecorating contest; Ben Lipman, a roving entertainer and magician; goody bags; balloon animals; and, most of all, "Tailgate Trick or Treating."

On behalf of the South Brunswick Department of Parks & Recreation, I would like to acknowledge the businesses and organizations that made contributions

and the volunteers who contributed their time, enthusiasm

and skills to the program. Their dedication to our community made this event possible.

Thank you to the following businesses and organizations for their generous donations, assistance and support: Andrea Schwarz, event coordinator for the Girl Scout Troops of South Brunswick; Café Calore; Vinnie's Pizzeria & Restaurant; Kendall Park Skating & Hockey; Cappriccio's Pizzeria and Journey 2L2.

Also, I would like to thank the following individual volunteers: Deputy Mayor Carol Barrett, Joe Camarota and Charlie Carley for helping with the judging of the cars and handing out stuffed animals; and Cory Allen, Gregg Allen and Bridget Meller from the South Brunswick Key Club for helping with registration.

Finally, I would like to thank the Department of Parks & Recreation staff - Tom Morris, Bonnie Bruccoleri, Jennifer Petri, Marybeth Miele, Ricky Luca, Blake Strameli, Kevin Miele, Joe Myers, Shane Raber and Mark Langone - all of whom went far beyond the call of duty to make this event an unqualified success.
