Marching bands to compete on Oct. 27

The East Brunswick High School Marching Band will host its ninth annual Marching Bands Competition beginning at 4 p.m. on Oct. 27. Due to renovations in progress at East Brunswick High School's track and field, this year's event will be held at Crossroads Middle School, 195 Major Road, Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick. Group 1 and 2 awards will be given out at approximately 7:10 p.m. Group 3 and 4 awards will follow at approximately 9:30 p.m.

The contest, which is sanctioned by the United States Scholastic Band Association (www.yea.org) and sponsored by the East Brunswick Band Boosters Association, will feature 16 marching bands from throughout the tristate area.

Admission is $8 for adults (ages 13 through 59), $6 for children age 12 and under and seniors age 60 and above.
