Master Gardeners receive Mantis Award

The Master Gardeners of Middlesex County, North Brunswick, have been honored with the 2007 Mantis Award for Community Gardens by the National Gardening Association. As a national winner, the master gardeners will receive a lightweight Mantis tiller/cultivator for use in its gardening program. The gardeners competed for the award with several nonprofit and community gardens nationwide. Criteria included evaluating the gardening program's vision, organization and service to the community. The annual award began in 1995. OCD foundation meeting Sept. 10

The New Jersey Affiliate of the Obsessive Compulsive Foundation will meet Sept. 10 from 7-9 p.m. at building room 108A at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Moderator will be Dr. Allen H. Weg, Foundation vice president. Meeting topic will be "You Are the Therapist," and individuals with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), or family members may share specific OCD problems. Professionals may also discuss examples of cases with challenging OCD issues.
