'Real Rap' session Aug. 3 in N.B.

My Daughter's Keeper Inc., North Brunswick, will hold a "Real Rap" session 6-8 p.m. Aug. 3 at New Brunswick Teen Hub Center, 411 Joyce Kilmer Ave., New Brunswick

The session will address issues pertaining to personal safety, self-awareness and empowerment. It will be facilitated by a black belt martial arts expert who will teach some key components of self-defense and self-awareness. Mothers who participate are asked to make a $10 donation, and teens are free. Attendees should wear comfortable clothing and shoes that permit free movement.

Joint vacation Bible school to begin July 30

St. Barnabas Episcopal Church and Christ the King Lutheran Church will hold a joint vacation Bible school, "Son Force Kids," July 30-Aug. 3 during the morning at St. Barnabas, 142 Sand Hill Road, South Brunswick.

The school is open to children age 4 (as of Aug. 3, 2007) through children who have just finished eighth grade, and is open to the public. The cost is $13 per child. High school students and adults may serve as aides. The school will feature Bible lessons, songs, games, crafts and snacks.
