'Grandma's Lotions and Potions' opens July 22

The Slack-Carroll House Museum, 354 Georges Road, Dayton section of South Brunswick, will present "Grandma's Lotions and Potions," July 22-Oct. 28 , Sundays from 1-4:30 p.m. and by appointment.

The exhibit was inspired by locally owned antique health and beauty recipe books. It highlights the plants and materials used to make home remedies and homemade beauty products when little else was available in the rural area. Featured are plants, photos of the plants, recipes, and artifacts of the period. Photos of the plants and wildflowers from rural South Brunswick were taken during the past 30 years by Dr. Richard Ilnicki, professor emeritus at Cook College. For information, call (732) 329-3429 or e-mail info@daytonvillage.org.
