Environmental Resource Inventory topic of meeting

The South Brunswick Township Council is inviting South Brunswick residents to attend its meeting July 24 at 7:30 p.m. for a presentation of the township's new Environmental Resource Inventory (ERI).

The ERI was developed during the past year by the township's Environmental Commission and Planning Department. It documents natural resources, land development patterns and infrastructure of the township. The ERI is posted on the township Web site this summer. It shows how development has spread out from historical areas near Routes 1 and 27. Several open spaces have extensive wetlands that slowed development, or are already preserved open space, but others are still developable. The ERI also includes information on ground water contamination and other threats to water quality.
