Entries accepted for Sept. 11 poetry contest
The North Brunswick September 11 Committee is now accepting entries for its poetry contest for students in grades K-12. Students are asked to write a poem about what Sept. 11 means to them, and entry deadline is July 31. The winner will read the poem during a memorial ceremony Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. across from 710 Hermann Road. Submissions may be sent to the Department of Parks & Recreation, 710 Hermann Road, or via LBenson@northbrunswickonline.com.
Sabella Park Preschool Family Night July 24
Sabella Park Preschool, North Brunswick, will host its annual Family Night July 24 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the park on Cozzens Lane. The event will feature an appearance by Shrek and Freddie the Fire Truck, pony rides, a petting zoo, a moonwalk, singing and dancing, door prizes and face-painting by the Girl Scouts. Admission is free with a donation of a canned or boxed food item for the North Brunswick Food Bank. The first 50 children will receive a Shrek head band.
