Volunteers sought for emergency drill July 14

The North Brunswick Police Department, Fire Department, First Aid Squad, and OEM are seeking volunteers for a joint emergency services practice drill July 14 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The drill will be held at the old J&J facility located at Route 1 and Aaron Road.

The drill will simulate a terrorist attack and chemical gas release, and test the ability of the township's emergency services to respond to a large-scale incident. Volunteers are needed to play the role of injured victims. Volunteers will be carried by the firemen to a treatment area, and members of the first aid squad will give medical attention and begin a decontamination process.

If volunteers agree, they will also be put through a decontamination tent. Volunteers will get wet, and a bathing suit under summer clothing is suggested. Certain volunteers will also be selected to be interviewed by detectives concerning the "terrorists."

For information, e-mail mmisur@ northbrunswickonline.com or call (732) 247-0922. ext. 310.
