Lafayette College, Easton, Pa., announced the following local student named to the dean's list for the spring semester:

Caroline J. Richardson, Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick, and a member of the class of 2010.

Berkeley College, Paramus, announced the following local students who received degrees at the spring commencement exercises:

Heather Feiler, Kendall Park section of South Brunswick, a degree in paralegal studies;

Samantha Filippone, Kendall Park, a degree in fashion marketing and management;

Janitza Herrera, North Brunswick, a degree in business administration - marketing;

Christine Perez, North Brunswick, a degree in fashion marketing and management; and

Danielle Rubino, North Brunswick, a degree in business administration.

Lafayette College, Easton, Pa., announced the following local student who received a degree at the spring commencement exercises:

Lauren M. Appio, Kendall Park section of South Brunswick, a bachelor of arts degree summa cum laude with honors in psychology, and member of Sigma Xi, Psi Chi.

Marywood University, Scranton, Pa., announced the following local student who received a degree at the spring commencement ceremonies:

Michael C. Jozaitis, South Brunswick, a bachelor of business administration degree cum laude at the College of Creative Arts and Management.

Neha Deshpande, Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick, and 2007 graduate of South Brunswick High School, has been appointed to serve on the March of Dimes National Youth Council. Council members are chosen based on demonstrated leadership ability. Deshpande, 17, has been a volunteer with the March of Dimes for six years, and this year served as youth chair of Rangeela, a fundraising and awareness event based around the Asian Indian culture which raised $60,000. She will attend Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, and major in molecular and cellular biology.

Cynthia Ahmed, a student at Crossroads North Middle School, South Brunswick, was honored at a statewide ceremony for gifted children held by The Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth, Baltimore. Ahmed was individually honored for academic performance and promise. She was invited to the awards ceremony based on her performance on an above-grade-level test given to students in grades two through eight.

Meghan Roberts, North Brunswick, graduated summa cum laude from Boston University's College of Communication in May. Roberts majored in magazine journalism.
