Schools supt. gets $15K raise

SOUTH BRUNSWICK - The Board of Education extended the contracts and granted raises to three members of the district's central administration during its regular meeting Monday.

At the recommendation of Schools Superintendent Gary McCartney, Assistant Superintendent Joanne Kerekes' contract was extended and her salary was set at $155,692 for the 2007-08 school year. He also recommended the extension of Business Administrator Anthony Tonzini, whose salary was set at $134,549 per year.

Finally, the contract of McCartney himself was set at $188,478 a year, $15,883 higher than last year's figure.

After opportunity for public comment, which passed with no members of the public rising to speak, the board approved all three contracts set for the following school year.
