Events raise $3,800 for Michael Meehan Fund

Two fundraisers held during June raised $3,800 for The Michael Meehan Emergency Medication Fund through the Epilepsy Foundation of New Jersey.

An event at the Deko Lounge, Sayreville, raised $600, and a family and friends barbecue at Fire Company No. 3, North Brunswick, raised $3,200 through ticket sales, door prizes and raffles.

The 26-year-old resident of North Brunswick and the Kendall Park section of South Brunswick was in a fatal motor vehicle accident in North Brunswick in February 2006. The money will benefit patients who are unable to afford medication.
