N.B. honors June scholars

Chelsea Glinceman

NORTH BRUNSWICK - Chelsea Glinceman and Joan Hales were honored as the Scholar-Athlete-Artist Award recipients at the Township Council meeting on June 4. The program was created to honor students who excel in academics, athletics and/or the arts.

School: North Brunswick Township High School

Academics: honor student

Athletics: received three varsity letters as a freshman for diving, track and tennis; member of the high school dance team club; participated in high-level rhythmic and artistic gymnastics competitions

Hobbies: friends, movies

Joan Hales

School: eighth-grader at Linwood Middle School

Academics: honor and high honor roll student every marking period; current honors math student; will be an honors math and biology student next year at the high school; Student of the Month this marking period; recipient of the Make a Difference Award at Linwood

Athletics: recreational soccer; travel soccer for three years; member of the Linwood soccer team; travel basketball; member of the Linwood basketball team

Extracurriculars: Member of SAFE Teens for three years; peer mediator

Volunteer efforts: has spent five years with the township first aid squad

The Department of Parks, Recreation & Community Services is accepting nominations for the program. Coaches, teachers and parents of children in grades three through 12 can submit their recommendations to the DPRCS Office at 710 Hermann Road or to LBenson@northbrunswickonline.com. Nominations must be in writing, no longer than one page, and a copy of the student's most recent report card must be attached.
