On Campus

Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison, honored students who achieved success in chosen majors and as student leaders in a ceremony in late April. The local student honored was:

Danielle Eige, Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick, Silberman College of Business, "Outstanding Achievement in Management."

Stacy Melissa Holz, North Brunswick, was inducted into Sigma Beta Delta International Honor Society for business, management and administration, at the Laboratory Institute of Merchandising, New York City. She is the daughter of Cindy and Randy Holz.

Rachel Lauren Fisher, North Brunswick, has been inducted into the National Honor Society at North Brunswick Township High School, where she is a junior. She is the daughter of Katherine and Roger Fisher

Bing Qiu, Dayton section of South Brunswick, has been chosen to receive a $2,500 National Merit Scholarship from the National Merit Scholarship Corp., Evanston, Ill. A student at South Brunswick High School, Monmouth Junction, Qui's probable career field is physics.

Kean University, Union, announced the names of the following local students who received scholarships for the 2006-07 school year at a scholars reception held in mid May:

Maria A. Dantoni , Kendall park section of South Brunswick, Joanne Hurley Florentino Scholarship; and

Patricia A. Demko, Dayton section of South Brunswick, Dorothy and George Hennings Endowed Scholarship in Education.

University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) announced that the following local students received awards and clinical honors at the spring commencement exercises:

Bhairav Virendra Shah, M.D., Dayton section of South Brunswick, a graduate of UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Student Outreach Program Award; and

Amrita Roperia, Dayton, a graduate of UMDNJ-School of Health-Related Professions, A.S. Psychosocial Rehabilitation & Treatment Academic Award.
