Party, citizenship class at N. Brunswick Library

The North Brunswick Library, 880 Hermann Road, will hold a birthday party on the library lawn June 10 from 1 to 4 p.m. (rain date June 16).

The event will feature games, entertainment, prizes, cotton candy, popcorn, ice cream, and birthday cake. There will also be an appearance by the WCTC radio van from 2 to 4 p.m.

A free workshop about how to apply for naturalization will be held June 11 at 7 p.m. Debby Alter, director of immigrant and refugee services at Jewish Family & Vocational Services of Middlesex County, will discuss citizenship eligibility and requirements; where, when and how much it costs to file an application; how to help parents pass the test; how to prepare for the test; what happens at the interview; what to do if the application or any immigrant application is lost or delayed; how to advocate for yourself; and how to file petitions for family members abroad.

Attendees may bring a completed application for review. Space is limited and registration is required. To register or for more information on the above, call the library at (732) 246-3545.
