Writer urges support of Republican candidates, clean elections

Next Thursday, May 31 my wife, Nanette, and I are going to attend a fundraiser for state Senate Republican candidate Bill Baroni and Assembly candidates Tom Goodwin and Adam Bushman, and I invite many of your readers to come with us.

The event is titled "Fair and Clean in District 14" and is named for the recent legislation. The purpose here is to promote clean elections by offering public financing help to campaigns built on small grassroots contributions. That's the fair part. It gives the little guys a chance to have the same clout as big contribution campaigns though the support of public financing.

Nanette and I want to reward people like Bill Baroni who has campaigned door to door and to support Tom Goodwin and Adam Bushman, who have kept their promises to their communities as they have served as councilmen.

Bring your checkbooks because your $10 per excellent candidate will be multiplied many times over by public financing. That will give the average voter a real voice.

Please come to 4 Anderson Way, Monmouth Junction (across from the high school), May 31 from 6-7 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
