Obituaries Frank Carlino Frank Carlino, 79, of North Brunswick, died March 14, 2007, at Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Newark, he resided in Scotch Plains prior to relocating to North Brunswick in 1985. He was a crossing guard for North Brunswick Township for five years, retiring in 2004. Prior to that, he was employed at Garden State Clark Lift and Fedders Air-Conditioning and Heating. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church, North Brunswick. He was a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. He was a North Brunswick Democratic Committeeman for 20 years. He was also on the Scotch Plains Recreation Commission, and Little League, and was a Cub Scout leader. He was predeceased by a sister, Rose Andersen in 2006. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gerry Daniele Carlino; a son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Mary Carlino of North Brunswick; a daughter and son-in-law, Rena and Jay Fleischman of Hillsborough; two brothers, Anthony "Skippy" Carlino of Rahway, and John Carlino Jr. of Mountainside; a sister, Lucille Delguercio of Berkeley Heights; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson. A funeral liturgy was held at Our Lady of Peace Church. Entombment was at Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, East Brunswick. Anne Toots Smith Mrs. Smith, 87, of Old Bridge, died March 24, 2007, at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Born in Sayreville, she resided in Old Bridge several years. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Smith. She is survived by two sons, Ronald Smith of Old Bridge, and Bruce Smith of the Kendall Park section of South Brunswick; two daughters, Sandra Rooney of North Brunswick, and Bonnie Rickert of Toms River; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Arrangements were by Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick.
Victor J. Romatowski Mr. Romatowski, 79, of Troy, Pa., formerly of South River and East Brunswick, died March 16, 2007, in Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, Pa. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the East Brunswick Parks Department. He also served as a policeman and a fireman and ran a dairy, a milk-delivery business and a septic business in East Brunswick. He was a Democratic councilman in South River and a Democratic committeeman in East Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Theresa Goldy Romatowski; six sons and daughters-in-law, Victor III and Linda Romatowski of South Brunswick, Thomas and Tina Romatowski of Highland Park, Donald and Diane Romatowski of North Brunswick, John and Diane Romatowski of East Brunswick, Joseph and Cathy Gallagher of Monroe and Anthony Romatowski of Mansfield, Pa.; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Susan and Gary Cote of Connecticut, Victoria Slomian of Columbia Cross Roads Pa., Maureen Williamson of Sayre, Pa., and Susan and Gregory Baldwin of Canton, Pa.; two sisters, Frances Kahora of New Tripoli, Pa., and Genevieve Murozko of East Brunswick; three brothers, Edward Romatowski of Luray, Va., Chester Romatowski of Lavallette and Joe Romatowski of Phippsburg, Maine; and 21 grandchildren. Mario Calantoni Mr. Calantoni, 86, of Milltown, died March 22, 2007, at home. Prior to his retirement in 1983, he was employed as a machinist at Parker Hannifin, North Brunswick, where he worked for 30 years. Surviving are his wife, Mary Michael Calantoni; two daughters, Carol Calantoni of Milltown and Barbara Harto of Dornsfife, Pa; two sons, Mario of Whittier, Calif., and James of North Brunswick; a brother, James of the Parlin section of Sayreville; a sister, Rose Matijcow of Perth Amboy; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services were held at Crabiel Home for Funerals, Milltown. Entombment was in Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick. Sarellen Raskin Mrs. Raskin, 74, of Princeton, formerly of Old Bridge, died March 16, 2007, in Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia. Surviving are her husband, Jack C. Raskin; four sons, Thomas Raskin of North Brunswick, John Raskin of Pennington, Peter Raskin of Southern Shores, N.C., and James Raskin of Ellicott City, Md.; a brother, William Stivers of the New Egypt section of Plumsted; a sister, Patricia Siek of Weston, Mass.; and seven grandchildren. Services were held at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Interment was in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton, Pa.
