Women urged to join Go Red for Women movement

I am sudden confusion and trouble speaking. I am a daughter. I am mother. I am a stroke. I am laughter and love; I am a former class clown and athlete. I am a stroke.

I am sudden numbness or weakness of face, arm or leg, especially on one side of the body. I am a massive stroke at age 30. I am a woman, I am talented, I am accomplished. I am a stroke. I cannot read, I cannot tell time, I cannot write, I cannot count money. I am a stroke.

I am your neighbor, I am a best friend, I am memories past and present. I am a stroke. I am 38, a single mother of two, recovered, back to work. I am a stroke. I am a sudden severe headache with no known cause. I am sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance and/or coordination. I stumble out of my car and across my lawn. I am weakness on one side of my body. I am a second massive stroke, this one at age 38. I am in a wheelchair. I cannot walk.

I am recovered. I am walking and working. I am a successful artist. I am financially secure. I am daily leaps of faith now knowing what the day will hold. I am a stroke, I am strong, I am courageous, I am a survivor!

I am the American Heart Association Go Red for Women movement.

Love your heart. Change your life. Join me and 500 women from across New Jersey for a day of inspiration, passion, education and special memories May 7 for the American heart Association New Jersey Go Red for Women luncheon. Learn more by calling (609) 223-3727.
