Obituaries Robert J. Kowalski Mr. Kowalski, 68, of Spotswood, died Jan. 26, 2007, in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was a former director of buildings and grounds for Middlesex County and Monmouth County schools. Surviving are his wife, Patricia Jesuele Kowalski; two sons, Joseph Kowalski, and his fiancé, Lisa, of North Brunswick, and Robert Kowalski, and his wife, Lisa, of Spotswood; three daughters, Theresa Wolfe, and her husband, William, of East Brunswick, Patricia Russell, and her husband, Robert, of Omaha, Neb., and Carolyn Palladino and her husband, Joseph, of Owego, N.Y.; a sister, Stephanie Venech of Florida; 12 grandchildren; two nephews; and a niece. A Mass was offered at Immaculate Conception Church, Spotswood. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Memorial contributions may be made to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Foundation Fund for Excellence, 8 Easton Ave., New Brunswick, NJ 08901, or to Immaculate Conception Church, 18 South St., Spotswood, NJ 08884.
Jacob Olsen Mr. Olsen, 87, of North Brunswick, died March 18, 2007, at home. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he resided in East Brunswick for 12 years, prior to relocating to North Brunswick 42 years ago. He served with the U.S. Army in North Africa and Italy during World War II. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rosemary Bauer Olsen; two daughters, Rosemary Marschilok of Stamford, N.Y., and Janet Olsen of North Brunswick; a sister, Lillian Wansor of Jefferson, N.Y.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be March 22 at 1 p.m. at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. burial will follow at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown.
Romesh Chander Tewari Mr. Tewari, 73, of Old Bridge, died March 13, 2007, at Beth Israel Hospital, Newark. Born in Lahore, India, he came to the United States in 1971, and resided in Elizabeth prior to relocating to Old Bridge 28 years ago. He was a principal auditor at the State of New Jersey Controllers Office for 25 years, retiring in 1993. He was also a history and practical ethics professor at Rutgers University, New Brunswick; and original participant and current teaching staff member at Osher Life Long Learning Institute at Rutgers. He received a Legislative Honor by the State and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey following retirement. He was a volunteer at Interfaith Hospice Care, Manalapan. He was a member of the New Jersey State Ombudsman for Rosehill Retirement Home, old Bridge. He was predeceased by his wife, Saroj in 1994. He is survived by his son, Vivek "Victor" of New York City; and a cousin, Kanta Sharma of North Brunswick. Arrangements were by Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge.
