Edward J. Freiwald

Mr. Freiwald, 79, of North Brunswick, died Feb. 1, 2007, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in South River, he was a lifelong resident of North Brunswick. He was a mechanic at Personal Products Corporation, Milltown, for 40 years, retiring in 1989. He served with the Special Police Force, North Brunswick, from 1952-63. He was a communicant of St. Mary of Mount Virgin Roman Catholic Church, New Brunswick. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 11378, and Adams Athletic Club, both North Brunswick; Loyal Order of Moose New Brunswick Council No. 236; and North Brunswick Pioneers Club. He was predeceased by his wife, Madeline Parillo Freiwald in 2001. He is survived by a daughter, Rose Ann Freiwald of East Brunswick; two sons, Edward Freiwald of Pennsylvania, and Donald Freiwald of North Brunswick; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church, North Brunswick. Entombment was at Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick. Arrangements were by Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick.

Alvin F. Greczek

Mr. Greczek, 86, of North Brunswick, died Jan. 30, 2007, at Saint Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Jamestown, Pa., he resided in New Brunswick prior to relocating to North Brunswick 48 years ago. He was an inspector at Triangle Conduit and Cable Company, New Brunswick, for 37 years, retiring in 1983. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II, and the Civilian Conservation Corps during the late 1930s. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, New Brunswick. He was a volunteer of the Meals on Wheels program, and member of the North Brunswick Senior Citizens. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Helen Krull Greczek; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Mary Ann Greczek of Middlesex, and Robert and Deborah Greczek of Stafford, Va.; a sister, Anna McConnell of Soberest; and five grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Sacred Heart Church. Entombment was at Resurrection burial Park, Piscataway. Arrangements were by Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick. Janis Karnitis

Mr. Karnitis, 86, of Manchester Township, died Feb. 11, 2007, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Smiltene, Latvia, he resided in North Brunswick prior to relocating to Manchester Township three years ago. He was a plater at New Brunswick Plating Inc. prior to retirement. He was a member of the Latvian Lutheran Church, East Brunswick. He was a member of the New Jersey Latvian Association, and Latvian Veterans Association. He was predeceased by his wife, Anna Karnitis in 1992. He is survived by a nephew and his wife, Juris and Raita Karnitis, and their family, all of Latvia. Visitation will be from Feb. 17 from 10-11 a.m. at Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m.

Adeline S. Parillo Zippo

Mrs.. Zippo, 81, of North Brunswick, died Feb. 2, 2007, at Southgate Health Care Center, Carney's Point. Born in North Brunswick, she was a lifelong resident. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church, North Brunswick. She was a former communicant of St. Mary of Mount Virgin Roman Catholic Church, New Brunswick. She was a member of the Ladies of Adams, Adams Athletic Club Auxiliary, and North Brunswick Pioneers Club. She enjoyed bingo, and Atlantic City. She was predeceased by her twin sister, Madeline Freiwald in 2001. She is survived by her husband, Saverio W. Zippo Sr.; a daughter and son-in-law, Dolores and Gary Nicholaisen of Pilesgrove; a son and daughter-in-law, Saverio W. and Diane Zippo Jr. of East Windsor; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Peace Church. Burial was at Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick. Arrangements were by Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick.

Sophie Osinski Carbone

Mrs. Carbone, 91, of North Brunswick, died Feb. 9, 2007, at Park Place Center, Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick. Born in Jersey City, she resided in North Brunswick the past 16 years. She was a retired presser at Brunswick Laundry and Ritz Cleaners, Jersey City. She was a member of North Brunswick Senior Citizens. Mrs. Carbone was predeceased by her husband, Andrew Carbone, in 1968. She is survived by a son, Andrew Carbone of North Brunswick; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Holy Rosary Church, Jersey City. Interment was at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City. Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick, was in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Holy Rosary Church, 344 Sixth St., Jersey City 07302.

Vanessa Beth Beaver

Mrs. Beaver, 49, of North Brunswick, died Feb. 5, 2007, at home. Born in Sherman, Texas, she resided in Highland Park prior to relocating to North Brunswick 14 years ago. She was a library assistant at North Brunswick Public Library for more than 10 years. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and graduate of Douglass College, New Brunswick. She was predeceased by her father, Gordon Beaver in 2000. She is survived by her partner, Beth Howard; a stepdaughter, Rebecca Power; her mother, Dorothy Beaver of Sherman, Texas; two brothers and one sister-in-law, James Beaver of York, S.C., and Sam and Kym Beaver of Tabernacle; and three sisters and one brother-in-law, Valerie Beaver of Sherman, Texas, Virginia Bordolon of Anna, Texas, and Casey and Matt Andrus of McKinney, Texas. Arrangements were by Brunswick Memorial Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Peter A. Campisano

Mr. Campisano, 76, of North Brunswick, died Feb. 3, 2007, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., he resided in Fullerton, Pa., prior to relocating to North Brunswick in 1965. He was office manager at the Department of Public Works, North Brunswick, for 10 years, retiring in 2002. Prior to that, he was a flight information coordinator at TWA, Newark Airport, fro 29 years, retiring in 1985. He was a communicant of St. Augustine of Canterbury Roman Catholic Church, Kendall Park section of South Brunswick. He was a member of the St. Augustine Knights of Columbus Council, and TWA Seniors Club. HE was also a founding member and past president of the North Brunswick Township High School Booster Club. He enjoyed travel, and time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Joan Pisano Campisano; four sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony and Janet Campisano of Kendall Park, Christopher and Patricia Campisano of Pennington, Peter and JoAnn Campisano of Kendall Park, and Michael and Amy Campisano of Bristol, Conn.; a sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Larry White of Vero Beach, Fla.; a brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Debbie Campisano of Reading, Pa.; his mother-in-law, Genevieve Pisano of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; and six grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at ST. Augustine's Church. Commital was at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Arrangements were by Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick. Alexander M. Bell

Mr. Bell, 87, of Monroe Township, died Feb. 9, 2007, at home. Born in East Orange, he resided in Edison before relocating to Monroe Township eight years ago. He was an administrator of pharmaceutical service at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, for 25 years, retiring in 1998. Prior to that, he founded Bell's Drugstore, Edison. He served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific theater during World War II. Mr. Bell is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bertha S. Moskovitz Bell; a son and daughter-in-law, Victor A. and Lynne Bell of Jamestown, R.I.; a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Ron Breakstone of Washington, Conn.; three brothers, Leo Bell of San Mateo, Calif., Frederick Bell of North Brunswick, and Daniel Bell of Newark; and two grandchildren. Interment was at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge. Arrangements were by Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels Inc., East Brunswick. Luis N. Mallea

Mr. Mallea, 84, of North Brunswick, died Feb. 8, 2007, at home. Born in Nampa, Idaho, he resided in Ohio, Michigan and Kansas prior to relocating to North Brunswick in 1969. He was an executive at Dreyfus Company, New York City, retiring in 1992. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church, North Brunswick. He was an avid Yankee and Rutgers fan. He was predeceased by his wife, Grace Patricia Holton Mallea in 1987; and a brother, Angel James Mallea. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Luis and Sandra Mallea Jr., and James and Karen Mallea, all of Flemington; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Dion G. and William Suarez of West Windsor, and Patricia Mallea, and Katie Mallea and Gary Greenfeder, all of Plainsboro, and Jennifer Mallea of North Brunswick; a brother, Leonard Mallea of Caldwell, Idaho; and six grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at Our Lady of Peace Church. Entombment was at Holy Cross Burial Park, East Brunswick. Arrangements were by The Crabiel Home for Funerals, Milltown. John G. Droppa

Mr. Droppa, 44, of Freehold Township, died Feb. 7, 2007, at Hackensack University Medical Center, Hackensack. Born in Irvington, he had lived in Sayreville and Matawan before moving to Freehold Township in 1999. He was a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service for 18 years in its Summit and Monroe locations. Mr. Droppa was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold. He was also a member of the Marlboro MVP Over 30 Men's Softball League. He was predeceased by his mother, Jean Sciuk Droppa, and a brother, Michael. Surviving are his wife of 14 years, Wendy Droppa; two daughters, Christina and Nicole Droppa, both at home; his father, Emil Droppa of Corpus Christi, Texas; a brother, Robert Droppa, also of Corpus Christi; two sisters, Jeanne Flanders of Moore, Okla., and Lorraine Eger of Rahway; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass was offered at St. Rose of Lima Church, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. The Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, was in charge of arrangements.
