Blood bank committee says thanks to supporters

South Brunswick's Blood Bank Committee would like to say thanks to the 148 folks who took the time to be part of our blood donor drive. We appreciate their giving us part of a sunny fall Saturday. One hundred and twenty-two pints of much-needed blood was collected. And our first 90 donors were treated to a $5 gift certificate from Cold Stone Creamery.

We're looking forward to even more of you joining us Jan. 14 at Congregation B'nai Tikvah, Finnegans Lane, for football and doughnuts while you donate.

We also want to thank those who helped us with this drive: all the volunteers who put up billboards and posters, handled the registration of donors, and feeding the staff. We also appreciate teenagers Alicia Battagliotti, Rosie Cosgrove, Shikha Soni and Grace Troccoli of Girl Scout Troop 1800, along with Shana Samuels, who shared duties at the refreshment and child-care areas.

We're grateful for support from local businesses: Bagel Time & Deli; Beiler's Fresh Meats; McCaffrey's; Pierre's Bakery; ShopRite; Super Stop & Shop; Tastee SubShoppe II; Theo's Family Restaurant; Wegmans; and Wild Oats.

If you'd like to join our committee and/or lend a helping hand with our coming blood donor drives, please call me at (723) 297-3198.
