Obituaries Anthony D. Mari Mr. Mari, 85, of North Brunswick, died Aug. 10 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Newark, he resided in the Colonia section of Woodbridge for 47 years before moving to North Brunswick five years ago. Mr. Mari was a supervisor at Western Electric, Kearney, for 42 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and the Colonia Senior Citizens Club. He was predeceased by his wife, Elaine Nittoli Mari, in 1995; a sister, Eleanor Magliozzi; a son-in-law, Patsy DeMaio; and a granddaughter, Danielle DeMaio. He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Patricia DeMaio, and Karen and Anthony Verderami, all of North Brunswick; two sisters, Marie Masi of Newark and Diane Inglese of East Hanover; and two granddaughters. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary of Mount Virgin Roman Catholic Church, New Brunswick, followed by interment at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Arrangements were by Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick. Nina Celona Bugnikos Mrs. Bugnikos, 41, of Milltown, died Aug. 10 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in New Brunswick, she resided in North Brunswick, prior to moving to Milltown 15 years ago. She was a former employee of Milltown Pharmacy. She was predeceased by a sister, Mary Frances Celona-Nikovics in 2002. she is survived by her husband, Tony Bugnikos; a daughter, Deanna Bugnikos at home; her parents, Anthony and Mary Renda Celona of North Brunswick; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Cathy and Jim Egan of Milltown, Anna and Joe Crotta of Jackson, and Connie De Andrea of Charlotte, N.C.; a brother-in-law, Robert Nikovics; and seven nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary of Mount Virgin Roman Catholic Church, New Brunswick. Interment was at Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick. Arrangements were by Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick. Memorial donations may be made to RWJUH Foundation, Hematology/Oncology Fund, 8 Easton Ave., New Brunswick 08901. Bishop Rupert S. B. Johnson Bishop Johnson, 88, of the Kendall Park section of South Brunswick, died Aug. 3 at University Medical Center at Princeton. He was born in Jamaica, West Indies. He was the pastor at Rehoboth Pentecostal Church, Trenton, for more than 30 years. He also served as the diocesan bishop at the Second Episcopal District of the United Churches. He was predeceased by his first wife, Maisie Dandy Johnson, and his second wife, Mae Henry Johnson. He is survived by his children, Rudolph, Maisie, Debra and Rupert; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson. A funeral service was held at the Rehoboth Pentecostal Church, Trenton. Interment will follow at Ewing Cemetery. Arrangements are by Campbell Funeral Chapel, Trenton.
Josephine C. Breese Anthony Mrs. Anthony, 84, of South River, died Aug. 15 at home. Born in the Dayton section of South Brunswick, she resided in South River the past 44 years. She was a member of South River Baptist church. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph in 1977; a son, Richard K. in 1993; a daughter, Vivian Meaier in 2000; a sister, Florence Pullen in 2004; and four brothers, Walter, Alvin and William Breese, and Thomas McCabe. She is survived by four sons and two daughters-in-law, Ronald Breese, Thomas and Cathy Anthony, Timothy and Jacqueline Anthony, and Earl Anthony, all of South River; five daughters and four sons-in-law, Elaine and Joseph Mendonza, and Maryann Formaniak, all of Jamesburg; Joann and Brian Burlew of Hazlet; Florence and Bernard Tempalski of Spotswood; and Lillian and Thomas Engelhardt of Parlin; a sister, Pearl Lewis of Mount Holly; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Aug. 18 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Brunswick Memorial Funeral Home, East Brunswick. A funeral service will be Aug. 19 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by interment at Dayton Cemetery.
